LG Velvet launch set for May 7th, Dual Screen accessory cover leaks

24 April 2020 0

After a couple of official teasers, LG has finally revealed that the LG Velvet smartphone will be unveiled on May 7th. It will be an online-only launch event that will be streamed live on YouTube. The announcement video clip focuses on the product design and Raindrop camera design like the previous teasers.

The video shows the camera sensor alignment using the colors phone will be released. These colors will be called Aurora White, Aurora Gray, Aurora Green, and Illusion Sunset. Unfortunately, it does not offer any further details about the smartphone that LG has been teasing for about a month.

Additionally, there is a new leak that claims that LG Velvet would come with a Dual Display cover accessory. It is essentially a phone cover that will also add a secondary display to the smartphone. This is similar to what we saw with previous LG phones including the LG V60 ThinQ which means not everything will be new about the new phone.

A report from ETNews corroborated the Dual Display accessory claim while also mentioning stylus support. It is said that the case accessory features a Wacom Active Electrostatic (WAE) driver IC. This will make it work with any stylus pen compatible with the WAE tech which then can be used with both primary and secondary displays.

The LG Velvet isn't still available. To be notified when it becomse available click here.
