As expected, Huawei Nova 7 series of smartphones has been made official in China. The series comprises three models named Nova 7, Nova 7 Pro, and Nova 7 SE. All of these are 5G capable smartphones with 40W fast charging. The slight difference is in the processor and other few hardware specs depending on the asking price.
Starting with the most expensive offering in the lineup, the Huawei Nova 7 Pro sports a 6.57-inch Full HD+ OLED curved display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It has a pill-shaped punch-hole in the top left corner that houses dual selfie cameras: a 32-megapixel sensor and an 8-megapixel sensor. Under the hood, it has HiSilicon Kirin 985 processor paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB storage options.
It has a quad rear camera setup includes a 64-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, an 8-megapixel periscope sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. The telescopic setup is helpful in delivering up to 5X optical zoom and up to 50X hybrid zoom.
The whole package is powered by a 4,000mAh battery with 40W fast charging support. It will ship with EMUI 10.1 based on Android 10 as the software. And yes, the phone has an in-display fingerprint scanner as per the current trend. It has been released in Red, Purple, Silver, Green, and Black color variants.
Huawei Nova 7 Pro pricing:
- 8GB/128GB for CNY 3,700 (about $522)
- 8GB/256GB for CNY 4,100 (about $580)
The Huawei Nova 7 comes with a smaller 6.53-inch Full HD+ OLED display but a higher 20:9 aspect ratio. Another difference is that it has only a single punch-hole. It has the same processor, configuration model, battery capacity, and fast charging as the Pro model. Even the rear camera setup has the same 64-megapixel primary sensor. The difference is in other cameras which are an 8-megapixel telephoto sensor (3X optical and 5X hybrid zoom), and a 2-megapixel macro sensor.
The front camera is a single 32-megapixel shooter in the top left corner. The phone also has an in-display fingerprint scanner. It has been priced at CNY 3,000 (about $425) for the 8GB/128GB model and CNY 3,400 (about $480) for the 8GB/256GB model. The buyers will be able to choose from Red, Black, Silver, Purple, and Green colors.
The Huawei Nova 7 SE is undoubtedly the most affordable option in the series. It is packed with a 6.5-inch Full HD+ IPS display with a single punch-hole. The choice of processor is Kirin 820 which is available with 8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB storage. The quad-camera setup features a 64-megapixel main sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra wide-angle sensor, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. There is also a 16-megapixel front camera housed within the punch-hole.
The battery capacity and fast charging is the same as the standard Nova 7. Huawei has priced the Nova 7 SE at CNY 2,400 for the base model i.e. 8GB/128GB and at CNY 2,800 for 8GB/256GB model.
