The display design trend has evolved much and is only a few steps away from adopting the last major change, called the in-display employment of selfie camera for a truly full-screen display. But an immense amount of study and effort is required to cover this short journey even. So, meanwhile, manufacturers have to explore the existing designs for their phones to move forward from here.
Speaking of adoption of trends, Samsung is apparently the new entrant to explore the motorized pop-up selfie camera. According to the notable tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer (@OnLeaks), Samsung is supposedly planning its first pop-up selfie camera phone. Pigtou and @OnLeaks have even shared a few renders of this device in question to let you know how the device may look like.
The name of this mysterious device is unknown but according to the tipster and the tech site in collaboration, this is going to be launched under Galaxy A-series. The images clearly show a single camera popping out of the top edge of the device. The mechanism looks similar to what is available on the OnePlus 7 Pro.
The phone has a curved profile, which is common on the Galaxy-A series, so this is one hint that the device we are reporting could come from this upper mid-range series. The site also throws light on other details of the device. The display is said to be roughly 6.5-inches and due to the rear camera module, the overall thickness is 9.7mm.
There is also a USB Type-C port on the bottom, with a noise-canceling mic to its right and the speaker grille to the left. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack, which may annoy many users. On the back, the phone has triple cameras, all-aligned vertically. The fingerprint sensor is mounted on the back in a circular shape.
Meanwhile, Sudhanshu Ambhore, a tipster from India shared the specs sheet of a new device that goes by the name Galaxy A21s.

Note- This info is from a relatively new source, so it's better to take it with a pinch of salt🧂
Looking at the camera and display details, it appears, this is the same device that @OnLeaks has reported. According to Ambhore’s tweet, the Galaxy A21s has triple cameras setup, this goes in line with the profile of the mysterious device with a pop-up selfie camera. Interestingly, the tip also reveals the configuration of the camera. The Galaxy A21s has 48MP primary camera followed by 8MP secondary and 2MP tertiary camera. It has a 6.55-inch display which is what @OnLeaks had suggested as well.
Other details include 3GB RAM, 64GB storage with microSD card support, 5,000mAH battery, 13MP front camera. However, the tipster has claimed the device is going to have a 3.5mm headphone jack but according to @ONLeaks, the device has no headphone jack. Well, these are just the initial details that may change with time. So take them with a pinch of salt and wait for more details to come.
It is possible that Samsung will announce this new phone in the next few months, once the lockdowns are lifted
Just when the rumors around Samsung using an in-display camera for its next flagship started to appear, we came across Samsung’s plans on adopting one more major design change. Possibly, Samsung would reserve the rumored in-display camera tech to its flagship phones only.
