The upcoming LG Velvet has now surfaced in a bunch of alleged hands-on photos. These images show the White-colored variant revealing Raindrop camera design. Original (April 28th, 2020)
Even though we still over a week for the LG Velvet launch event, we do not have to wait anymore for all the important details. LG has published a new blog post detailing all of LG Velvelt's key specifications and features. It further shows official renders of the phone, color variants, and accessories that will be compatible with the device.
The LG Velvet is officially confirmed to arrive with a 6.8-inch OLED "Cinema FullVision" notched display and 20.5:9 aspect ratio. It has a slight curve on the edges that should help it deliver immersive viewing experience. It seems like LG has focused on the multimedia experience as it is touting stereo speakers and "artificial intelligence sound" to complement the video. The latter will optimize the audio quality depending on the content type.
Under the hood, it will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 5G processor which was revealed in a previously released teaser video as well. It is a 7nm processor with an integrated 5G modem that helped LG to offer 5G capabilities while allowing the device to be slim. It will be one of the few mid-range 5G devices in the market when it becomes available.
The Raindrop camera design will feature a 48-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. It will come with Quad Binning technology where four pixels will be combined into one to achieve better and sharper low-light shots. For those who love to shoot videos on phones, there is a feature called 'Voice Out Focus' that will help users remove background noise with ease. Similarly, ASMR tech will maximize the sensitivity of two high-performance microphones for a clearer sound recording.
The battery capacity will be 4,300mAh but no words on fast charging yet. The LG Velvet will also support LG Dual Screen and Stylus Pen accessories but these will be sold separately. It is set to go on sale starting May 15th in South Korea.
