Even though Sony has revealed a lot of important details about the next-gen gaming console PlayStation 5, it has remained mum over the launch event date. It is the event where we will be able to complete the puzzle with new pieces like the design, pricing, and availability details. Now, a new tip claims that the much-awaited launch is still a month away.
Jeffrey Grubb, a reporter for GamesBeat, posted on ResetERA forums that PlayStation 5 launch is being planned for June 4th. This is slightly disappointing news for many fans as Sony was previously rumored to formally unveil the console in May. It seems like the launch has been pushed back by a month and will now take place in the first week of June.
Sony has not made any official statements or released teasers about the launch but considering Grubb's track record, this new tip does have some weight. He is widely known for correctly revealing the Nintendo Direct launch date. It is worth noting even if the leak is correct, the launch date is still subject to change at any time because of the Coronavirus outbreak around the world.
The PlayStation 5 is set to be a powerful gaming console with compatibility for games in up to 8K resolution. It has a lot more powerful processor than the predecessor in the form of AMD Ryzen Zen 2 with custom cores. There will be SSD storage for faster data read/write, 4K UHD Blu-Ray player, and backward compatibility. It will even a new controller named DualSense with revamped design and a couple of new functionalities.
