Xiaomi has officially unveiled two new smartphones named Redmi Note 9 and Mi Note 10 Lite. The first one is the newest member of the family that includes Redmi Note 9 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max. The latter is an affordable variant in the flagship series featuring Mi Note 10 and Mi Note 10 Pro.
The Redmi Note 9 sports a 6.53-inch Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) IPS punch-hole display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It is the world's first smartphone to feature MediaTek's Helio G85 gaming processor. There are two configuration models that offer 3GB of RAM with 64GB storage and 4GB of RAM with 128GB storage.
The back panel has a quad-camera setup including a 48-megapixel Samsung GM1 primary sensor with f/1.79 aperture, an 8-megapixel wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture, a 2-megapixel macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The punch-hole in the top left corner houses a 13-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls.
The whole package is powered by a 5,020mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. It will run MIUI 11 based on Android 10 out of the box. Other noteworthy features include 3.5mm headphone jack, USB Type-C port, NFC, and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The Redmi Note 9 has been priced at $199 for the 3GB/64GB model and $249 for the 4GB/128GB model.
The Mi Note 10 Lite is a premium smartphone as compared to the Redmi Note 9. It sports a 6.47-inch Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) curved and notched AMOLED display with HDR10 support. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G processor coupled with 6GB and 8GB of RAM. The internal storage options include 64GB and 128GB but you will not get microSD card support for expansion.
It also has quad rear cameras that include a 64-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, a 5-megapixel depth sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. The selfie camera is a 16-megapixel single shooter that is housed within the notch. There is a 5,260mAh battery to keep the lights on and 30W fast charging support. It will ship with MIUI 11 based on Android 10 when it goes on sale.
Xiaomi has priced the Mi Note Lite at EUR 349 for the 6GB/64GB model and EUR 399 for the 6GB/128GB model. It has not said anything about the pricing of the 8GB model(s).
