YouTube has expanded its personalized topic filters to users on iOS and web. These filters were initially made available only for Android devices but after months of wait, they are available on the other two biggest platforms. The goal of these filters is to help viewers find videos matching their tastes quickly.
These topic filters are visible on the home page and right below the search bar for YouTube Premium users. For others, this will be just below the big banner ad that appears on the top. YouTube sets recommendations to "All Recommendations" filter by default but a user can click on any of the filters to browse specific videos.
These video filters are personalized which means one will need to sign-in using their Google account to see them. In my feed, some of the filters are Comedy, PUBG, Smartphones, Rapping, Trailers, and Cricket. Clicking on any of them will bring me relevant videos for faster browsing.
Since these are personalized recommendations, filters will change with time as your viewing habits will change. It means if you are not watching particular category videos now but start watching later, then those videos will start appearing in the form of filters. It is a server-side change and should become available for all users in the coming days.
