'Made in India' OnePlus 8 series to go on sale by May-end

13 May 2020 0

It is about to be a month since OnePlus officially announced the OnePlus 8 series globally as well as in India. Both OnePus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro went up for pre-orders by the end of April but with no words on the date of the sale. The answer to the question is finally here as OnePlus has confirmed OnePlus 8 series will start hitting shelves in India by May-end.

Vikas Agarwal, General Manager of OnePlus India, told IANS that OnePlus has started manufacturing the latest flagship series at its Noida plant. It means Indian buyers will be getting Made in India OnePlus 8 series phones as and when sales will begin in the coming two weeks.

Here is Agarwal's official statement,

"We are expecting it to transition into robust sales in the coming months. The OnePlus 8 series will be available in the Indian market by May-end. We have resumed operations in the Noida facility last week itself in line with the health safety regulations laid out by the government."

The OnePlus 8 has been priced at Rs. 41,999 for the base model (6GB/128GB) and Rs. 49,999 for the high-end variant (12GB/256GB). There is also an option with 8GB/128GB that costs Rs. 44,999. As for the OnePlus 8 Pro, it will set buyers back by Rs. 54,999 for 8GB/128GB model and Rs. 59,999 for 12GB/256GB model.

There is no doubt that OnePlus smartphones have become more and more expensive with each release which has become a topic of discussion among tech enthusiasts. It is worth noting that the OnePlus 8 series pricing is still significantly cheaper than the pricing in the western market including the United States.
