HMD Global has officially announced the availability of the Nokia 1.3 smartphone in the United States. It was originally announced about a couple of months ago alongside the Nokia 5.3 and Nokia 8.3 5G. It is an Android Go device which means it comes with entry-level specifications and features. It also runs a tweaked Android version to deliver optimal performance.
It is one of the few Android Go smartphones that run the latest Android 10 (Go edition). It also packs Google's newly released Camera Go and Gallery Go applications that make it stand apart from the competition. As the name suggests, these are tweaked and lighter versions of Google's main Camera and Gallery apps.
The Nokia 1.3 sports a 5.71-inch HD+ (1600 x 720 pixels) IPS notched display that gives it a modern look. Under the hood, it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 215 processor that should deliver good performance considering the segment it is aimed at. The phone has been released in a single configuration option featuring 1GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage.
The camera department includes an 8-megapixel sensor on the back and a 5-megapixel sensor on the front. The whole package is powered by a 3,000mAh battery that is likely to last for a day with ease. The Nokia 1.3 has been priced at $99 in the United States with pre-orders already underway. The budget smartphone is available for purchase on B&H and Amazon.
