OnePlus 7T gets 960fps slow motion and 4K@30fps wide-angle video via OxygenOS beta

15 May 2020 0

OnePlus 7T has received the third OxygenOS Open Beta update and while the changelog notes April 2020 security patch and camera lens dirt detection feature, it has not mentioned other changes coming along with the update.

OnePlus 7T user posted a screenshot on Reddit, confirming one more major change that this Open Beta 3 is bringing. The screenshot shows the OnePlus 7T has gained 720@960fps slow-motion option on the camera app. Currently, there are only two options available, either 1080p@240fps or 720p@480fps. Now the third option will soon join for everyone.

Another reported feature that OnePlus has quietly added is the ability to capture 4K videos at 30fps. The same Redditor also confirmed in a follow-up reply that 4K@30fps wide-angle video option has also arrived for them.

Note that these are the major additions to the camera app but OnePlus chose not to disclose them in the official changelog. It is assumed that the new settings may require some touch up before OnePlus becomes absolutely sure about them and announce to everyone. Of course, it is a beta update and the new features could be unstable as well. So, let’s wait for OnePlus to announce these additions officially.

Note that the 4K@30fps wide-angle video recording was also not available initially on OnePlus 7 Pro but the company later enabled the functionality alongside the Android 10 update.
