Xiaomi launches MIUI 12 global ROM eligible devices and release schedule

20 May 2020 0

Xiaomi debuted MIUI 12 Chinese version last month and ever since global fans have been waiting for the arrival of the global ROM. The wait is finally over as MIUI 12 Global ROM has finally been unveiled yesterday. It is the ROM that will be released for devices sold outside China which means all over the world.

All major MIUI 12 features of the global version are the same as the Chinese version. It means users will get more immersive and interactive live wallpapers called Super Wallpapers. There are various new security and privacy-oriented features that will help get better control over app permissions. It further includes various visual improvements and tweaks for personalization.

In terms of rollout, Xiaomi has said that MIUI 12 global ROM rollout will begin sometime in June 2020. The first batch of devices includes Mi 9, Mi 9T, MI 9t Pro, Redmi K20, and Redmi K20 Pro. All of these are flagship devices which makes sense considering premium phones are known to get updates first.
