OnePlus OxygenOS to get dark mode toggle in quick settings soon

20 May 2020 0

OnePlus has confirmed that OxygenOS will soon get the dark mode toggle for an easy switch between the normal and dark theme. The dark mode toggle has been on the wishlist of the OnePlus users for a long time now but the company is thinking to bring in the coming future only.

In a monthly FAQ session, OnePlus has confirmed it will add the Dark Mode directly to the Quick Settings so that users can turn it one in just one click. OnePlus also confirmed that it will first have it under testing before pushing it to everyone. According to OnePlus, the internal testing before the Open Beta push will start this month.

Android 10 has this toggle built-in, but OnePlus buried the dark mode setting under the OxygenOS customization menu.

Currently, you have to follow many steps to enable the dark mode completely on your phone. For instance, to enable it on the OnePlus 8, you would need to head into Settings > Customizations and then either switch to the “Nuanced dark” theme or change the tone to “Dark.” But when the toggle arrives you would just need to swipe down the quick settings panel and toggle theme on or off. This is something available on every other phone running Android 10.

Together with this, OnePlus also addressed several other things by answering some important questions, like why is there no internet connection while sharing the hotspot on the OnePlus 8 series. To which OnePlus offered the steps to settings in order to use it right. OnePlus also answered to the question that why does the “new phone” heat up while using OnePlus Switch.

OnePlus also has plans to improve the app switcher experience and address various bugs.
