In recent months, we have seen more and more phones coming with in-display fingerprint scanners. The recently unveiled Samsung Galaxy S20 also features a similar fingerprint scanner and as we have seen with other such devices, it comes with a fingerprint unlocking animation. While it does look cool to many, there are also users who do not like it for different reasons. This is the reason Samsung has released a new software update.
This new update is aimed at allowing Galaxy S20 users to disable fingerprint unlocking animation. The new option is available within the Fingerprint settings on the smartphone. It is available within the same section of settings where you get the option to enable or disable fingerprint unlock.
The new option is named Show animation when unlocking which is basically a toggle setting. The toggle should be turned on if a user wants the animation to be shown and vice-versa if he wants it to be disabled. There are users who do not like animations as they tend to make the unlocking process appear relatively slower.
It is an over the air update that should be small in size. The update rollout has begun and should become available to all the users at a gradual pace. One can also check for the update manually by visiting system settings.
