Samsung Access covers mobile upgrade with Premium Care and 1TB OneDrive cloud storage

02 June 2020 0

Samsung has launched Samsung Access, a new subscription plan that gives you some extra benefits apart from just upgrading your phone. Samsung has quietly introduced this new subscription plan and that too for only the Galaxy S20 series. It is unknown if Samsung plans to bring more phones into this new subscription plan for now.

Samsung Access is different from Samsung’s existing Upgrade Program. The all-new plan gives you some extra perks but at some added cost. You not only get smartphone upgrades with the new subscription plan but also benefits like Premium Care membership and 1TB cloud storage but for an added fee.

Upgrade program –

Just like the Samsung Upgrade Program, the new Samsung Access also lets finance a new phone through monthly payments and allows you to trade in the phone for the value that is remaining. You can upgrade or return an eligible Samsung smartphone at any time. You can upgrade your phone for no additional fee every 9 months. You can cancel the subscription at any time but you have to commit to a minimum of three-month membership otherwise you will be charged a one-time $100 fee. But if you choose to cancel anytime afterward, you will not be charged any additional cancellation fees.

Also, if you decide to re-enroll at any point after the third month but before the completion of the nine-month period, you will be charged the re-enrollment fee. Samsung mentions that this fee may be waived if your new device is the same model as the original device you purchased before with Access Program.

The Samsung Access Program can prove to be a helpful program for those who like to upgrade a lot. You can upgrade in just 9 months without having to wait longer for the trade-in session to complete like in the Upgrade Program.

The Samsung Access program is priced at $37 per month for the Galaxy S20, $42 per month for the Galaxy S20 Plus, or $48 per month for the Galaxy S20 Ultra.

You can read about the enrolling process from the terms and conditions page maintained by Samsung.

Extra benefits -

Apart from the Upgrade program, here’s what’s included in the Samsung Access Program. It gives you access to premium Microsoft 365 plan software. This includes Word, Excel Access, Powerpoint, Outlook, Skype, and a huge 1TB of OneDrive cloud storage. You also get Premium Care with the subscription plan. This is to cover you if your phone gets any damage. You can get it replaced or repaired for a $99 deductible up to three-time in a 12 month period.

Eligible products available with Samsung Access subscription plan –

Currently, only the new Galaxy S20, S20 Plus, and the Galaxy S20 Ultra are available for this program. It is expected that the upcoming Galaxy Note 20 may also support the new subscription plan. The new Samsung Access subscription plan is available for the QLED TVs as well.
