OxygenOS beta schedule revised, OnePlus 8 closed beta coming soon

06 June 2020 0

OnePlus is undoubtedly one of the most reliable Android OEMs in terms of offering software support. It not only releases timely software updates but also offers a consistent beta program for all eligible devices. The beta program has two channels named Closed Beta and Open Beta which started about four years ago and now, it has revised the schedule a little.

As per the announcement, OnePlus will release two Closed Beta updates and one Open Beta per month. The team has decided to half the roll out count which used to be four and two releases respectively. The reason behind the change is to ensure that whenever updates are released, they are as stable and reliable as possible.

The idea is to have more time available for working on new builds and fixing bugs. The new schedule will ensure that the development team does not rush for pushing out new builds. The working of both channels will continue to be unchanged which means Closed Beta channel will continue to be an exclusive group. It will have only up to 100 beta testers per device at any given point of time.

Additionally, OnePlus has announced that the OnePlus 8 series Closed Beta program is coming soon. It will be available for both the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro smartphones. An exact release timeline has not been revealed yet but the team will make an announcement as and when recruitment will start.
