OnePlus Game Space update allows addition of hidden games

09 June 2020 0

OnePlus Game Space has received an update that makes it possible for users to add games that are hidden. The new functionality is available with the app version 2.3.7 and was requested by many in the recent past. It offers additional freedom of keeping games hidden as well as within the Game Space.

Prior to the update, it was not possible to add a game to Game Space if it was part of the "Hidden Space". The latter is the name for space where OnePlus keeps hidden apps. These are those apps that users have installed but do not want them to appear in the app drawer. It further allows you to keep these apps protected by setting up a password.

The new Game Space version now shows a three-dot icon that provides the option for adding hidden games. It means the app will continue to avoid hidden games by default. If someone wants to add such games, they will have to check the option and then proceed with the game addition.

Game Space is OnePlus' dedicated app for games packed with features to improve the gaming experience. All games that are part of the spaces get launched with the gaming mode enabled. This is a model that ensures that games get full performance from the smartphone and the user does not get distracted by notifications. It used to be a system but was recently listed on the Google Play Store as an independent app for faster updates.

The same XDA report adds that OnePlus is working on adding a new Game Space feature. It is called "Moments" and is expected to be a place to store gameplay screenshots and videos. The team spotted a few code strings with references like “no captured moments found” and “view all in-game captured moments.” It is further said to have two tabs named Recent and Games but as of now, it is hard to say when it will be released.
