As we are getting closer to the usual iPhone launch timeline, different reports about the iPhone 12 series launch are surfacing online. A recent report claimed a slight delay in the launch but a new Digitimes report has something positive for the fans. It mentions that the iPhone 12 series will undergo mass production starting July i.e. next month.
The reason behind the speculation is that Apple is said to complete the second stage of Engineering Validation and Testing (EVT) by the end of this month. This will allow the team to get started with the mass production phase as early as the next month. It is important to note that even though all of the models are said to enter the production line together, the report does not say anything about the actual launch.
It means there is still a possibility that Apple might launch different iPhone 12 models at different times. We have seen it follow this approach in the past as well. Apple is known for preferring to wait until its products meet all the quality standards set by the team. This is the reason a launch delay is on the cards for this year as well, especially because of the way things have been due to the COVID-19 situation.
The iPhone 12 series is widely rumored to feature four models with all of them sporting OLED display panels. They will also have 5G compatibility which will be a first for any iPhone. Apple will make use of A14 Bionic chip for delivering the fastest performance on a smartphone. These models will differ in certain aspects like display size and camera capabilities.
