OnePlus 8T likely to feature newly discovered super-fast 65W charging tech

OnePlus 7T for reference only

OnePlus prepping the 65W fast-charging tech has been referenced again and this time the strings inside the OnePlus Engineering Mode app are revealing the same. Earlier last month, a TUV Rheinland certification listing revealed that OnePlus is working on a 65W fast-charging solution and now we are seeing a reference of the same right inside the app which is used for hardware testing.

This makes it evident that we may see the new fast-charging tech coming to the OnePlus phones soon. However, it is still unknown if it is going to be the OnePlus 8T or OnePlus 9 coming next year. The latest version of the Engineering Mode app from Android 11 beta for the OnePlus 8 series shows strings’ name – "Super Warp Charger" and "65W Fast Charge." So, this is apparent what OnePlus is looking to add here. These strings, however, are not helpful in disclosing the name of the device that will feature this new tech. But it is being assumed that the OnePlus 8T will have it.

OnePlus’ newly spotted Super Warp Charge 65 is likely to charge at 10V/6.5A compared to the Warp Charge 30 tech that charges at 5V/6A. It is expected that the 65W Super Warp charging will likely be based on the same technology which is behind Oppo’s 65W SuperVOOC 2.0, given that both the companies have been known to share technology with each other.

It is yet to be seen if OnePlus 8T or OnePlus phone from 2021 will feature this new tech.

The OnePlus 8T isn't still available. To be notified when it becomse available click here.
