Microsoft has officially revealed what to expect from Windows 10 20H2 update that will land later this year. It will be a feature update that will be made available for users running the recently released May 2020 update. It is said to offer a "scoped set of features to improve performance and enhance quality".
The Windows 10 20H2 update will be released using the same process Microsoft used to use for monthly updates. This will result in a faster installation of the update for customers. It has announced the naming scheme like "20H2" will be used in the future to make it easier for users to know when a particular update was released. It will further use names like "May 2020" update while communicating with users.
The exact list of new features and changes has not been announced yet as the changelog will surely go under changes by the time it will actually be released. However, Microsoft has confirmed that Windows 10 20H2 update will offer the Chromium-based Edge browser natively. This new browser currently needs to be downloaded and installed manually.
Similarly, an exact release date for the update has not been finalized yet. It is set to arrive in the second half of the year i.e. anytime between July 2020 and December 2020. We will keep you updated on further developments and announcements as and when these will be made.
