01 July 2020 0

UPDATE (July 1st, 2020):

Poco has officially confirmed that Poco M2 Pro will be launched on July 7th. The event will take place at 12 PM IST in India and is being touted as "Feel the Surge". It will be sold exclusively via Flipkart. As far as details about the phone are concerned, those are currently missing but we can always expect official teasers and reports to emerge in the meantime.

Original (June 18th, 2020):

It is official that Poco will announce a new smartphone in India within the next 20-25 days. The only question is which smartphone it will be and as expected, there are rumors claiming to provide an answer. Some are speculating it to be the Poco F2 Pro but the most common reports point at the Poco M2 Pro. This new report also corroborates the second claim.

The alleged Poco M2 Pro has been spotted on the BIS certification website by reliable tipster Mukul Sharma aka @stufflistings. The listing reveals the model number to be M2003J6CI. It is the same model number that has been reported in previous reports related to Poco smartphones.

Interestingly, this new Poco smartphone is said to be nothing but a Redmi Note 9 Pro variant. This speculation is based on the fact that both these devices have been found to be bearing the same codename i.e. gram. It is reported that specifications will remain unchanged. This is not an odd claim to make as we have seen Poco release rebranded Redmi phones under their own banner.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro was unveiled in India about three months ago. It is a 5G smartphone powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor with up to 6GB of RAM. There is a quad-camera setup, a notched display, and a huge 5,020mAh battery.

The Poco M2 Pro isn't still available. To be notified when it becomse available click here.
