One of the common trends among OEMs is to release different variants of the same smartphone. These usually feature "Pro" and "Lite" in the name along with slight differences in specifications. iQOO, a Chinese smartphone maker, is reportedly set to do the same as it is now reported to be working on the iQOO 3 Pro.
This alleged new smartphone will be an enhanced version of the iQOO 3 5G launched in February 2020. The biggest difference is said to be the use of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus. This is a processor that has not been announced officially yet but is expected to arrive in the second half of the year. It will be slightly improved Snapdragon 865 but interestingly, some reports also claim that Qualcomm has no plans of releasing such a processor this year.
The report further claims that the iQOO 3 Pro will sport a 6.56-inch AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The touch sampling rate is tipped to be 180Hz. It suggests that the phone will be a tad bit taller than the currently available iQOO 3. There is said to be up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage
The camera department is said to offer a 48-megapixel primary shooter paired with an 8-megapixel sensor and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor. The front camera will be a 16-megapixel shooter for clicking selfies and video calls. Lastly, it is claimed to feature a 4,500mAh battery and Android 10 as the operating system.
As for the pricing, the iQOO 3 Pro is tipped to cost CNY 3,998 for the 8GB/128GB model. There will be two more variants with 8GB/256GB and 12GB/256GB that will cost CNY 4,298 and CNY 4,698 respectively. All of these are rumored information which is the reason we would suggest you take them with a pinch of salt.
