Even though the majority of the Apple rumors are related to the iPhone 12 series, there have also been reports about new iPad models. Apple is reported to announce at least two new iPad models by the beginning of the next year. Ming-Chi Kuo has shared his new research notes corroborating these claims.
Kuo believes that Apple will announce a new 10.8-inch iPad later this year and a new 8.5-inch iPad Mini during the first half of 2021. However, it is unknown whether the bigger model will be a new model in the iPad Pro lineup or the standard iPad series. Even if it is part of the latter, it will not be surprising as the current iPad 7th Gen offers a huge 10.2-inch display.
On another hand, the iPad Mini (5th Gen) comes with 7.9-inch display size. This means the upcoming model will get bigger and get closer to the standard 9.7-inch display. The model was unveiled with Apple's A12 Bionic chipset but since A13 Bionic is also available, it will be interesting to see whether Apple will go for the newer option.
It is further speculated that both these new iPad models will come bundled with the new 20W charger. It is a new charger that Apple is working on with the goal of providing faster charging. Although, Kuo also says that iPhone 12 series will have no adapter or earbuds in the retail box.
