As we are waiting for the PlayStation 5 to go on sale, Sony has officially unveiled the PlayStation 5 game box design. The overall shape and size of the box are the same as the predecessor but the color scheme has been changed. The particular game box shown in the announcement post is for Marvel's upcoming Spider-Man: Miles Morales title.
The first thing that one would notice straight away is the darker Blue and White color combination. This is similar to the approach Sony used for the PlayStation 5 console design. The top bar with "PS5" branding is in the White color as compared to it being all Blue for PlayStation 4 games.
The logo text is in the Black color which is exactly opposite of what we have seen with PlayStation 4 games. These title boxes feature the "PS4" logo branding in the White color text. The change in the color scheme is a reasonable one as Sony would want to follow a uniform color scheme across the console and games.
A similar kind of approach can be seen with the new PlayStation 5 software user interface. Sony has not revealed anything about it except for saying that it will feature revamped UI and UX elements. We can expect it to become public in the coming weeks as Sony gets closer to the date when it will start shipping the new console.
