Oppo has made the announcement that it will introduce 125W fast charging technology in China. Yes, you read that right. It will be the fastest smartphone charging tech around the world. The currently commercially available fastest tech is 65W which is also from Oppo. It means the company will be breaking its own record to set a new global record.
It is believed that the 125W fast charging tech will be capable of charging a 4,000mAh battery fully within just 15 minutes. The 50% capacity charging should take even less time and probably within 5 to 10 minutes. This is undoubtedly insanely quick considering that phones traditionally take at least about an hour to get charged completely.
It should be noted that Vivo's sub-brand iQOO has already announced its own 120W fast charging tech. It is claimed to take only 15 minutes for charging a 4,000mAh battery completely. The good thing is that the brand has already started manufacturing the first smartphone model compatible with the new tech.
As far as Oppo's fast charging tech is concerned, we will get to know other details in the next two days. It goes without saying that a smartphone with the tech will unlikely get released at the event but we can expect a timeline to be announced.
