Reliance made some key announcements at its 43rd Annual General Meeting, which it held virtually for the first time ever due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
It first announced its strategic partnership with Google via which it will develop and launch some entry-level phones for the Indians. Later it announced Jio Glass, its first mixed reality handset to connect people virtually with each other. But the two are not the only key announcements that Reliance made at its virtually held AGM event. In fact, before announcing any of its plans or future products, Reliance Jio talks about 5G solution.
Reliance Jio announced that it has created a complete 5G solution from scratch that has enabled to launch a world-class 5G service in India. Reliance claims that its 5G solution has been developed from 100% homegrown technologies and solutions. Reliance Jio plans to begin testing its 5G service in the country as soon as the 5G spectrum is made available.
According to the roadmap of the company, it also plans to export 5G to other operators globally. While delivering the presentation, Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and MD at Reliance Industries mentioned that switching to 5G will not be very difficult as the company already uses an all-IP network architecture.
Ambani later mentioned that Reliance Jio’s 5G solution is dedicated to India’s Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi’s vision of “Atmanirbhar Bharat.”
