UPDATE (August 5th, 2020):

Xiaomi has now brought its Mi TV Stick to the Indian market. It is the same as the global version but comes loaded with locally popular streaming apps like Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ Hotstar, Netflix, Sun NXT, Voot, Jio Cinema, Eros Now, ALT Balaji, and Flickstree among others. The stick has been priced at Rs. 2,799 in India that makes it a worthy competitor to Amazon's Fire TV Stick in the country. It will go on sale starting August 7th at 12 PM IST.

Original (July 16th, 2020)

Xiaomi has officially unveiled its Android TV dongle named Mi TV Stick. It is the same device that surfaced in leaks a couple of months ago but only the 1080p variant has been released. It means if you prefer to stream your favorite content in 4K, this is not the device for you and you should wait for the 4K variant to launch.

The Mi TV Stick is a portable device as it looks like a USB flash drive and Amazon Fire TV stick. It can be connected to any TV as long as it has an HDMI port. Xiaomi says that the setup is very easy where a user only needs to plug-in the device and connect to a WiFi network to get started. It offers access to a number of apps like Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, HBO, Spotify, Twitch, and most importantly Google Play Store.

In terms of hardware specifications, the Mi TV Stick is powered by a quad-core processor and a Penta-core GPU. There is 1GB of RAM and 8GB of onboard storage for installing apps and games. The remote control features dedicated buttons for Google Assistant, Netflix, and Amazon Prime Video. It further supports Dolby Audio and DTS for an immersive audio experience.

Xiaomi has priced the Mi TV Stick at EUR 39.99 in the global market but exact pricing may vary slightly depending on the particular region. There are no words on when it will go on sale but we will keep you updated whenever the date will be shared.
