Samsung has officially announced it will launch five new products at its upcoming Galaxy Unpacked 2020 event on August 5. While the company didn’t disclose the names of those products, it is not hard to predict what they could be. For instance, referring to so many leaks and even Samsung’s own teaser, it is easy to glean that the successor to the Galaxy Fold is also on the list.
The upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 2 is said to be coming with many upgrades over its predecessor, including larger displays on both the inside and outside, with an inner display featuring the 120Hz refresh rate as well, and better camera configurations as well. But these are not just the only enhancements that Samsung has made. The actual unveil is bound to happen on August 5 but we do have an ample amount of time to do some learning on our own.
Max Weinbach from XDA Developers has managed to find a few key things about the Galaxy Fold 2 by digging into the Z Flip 5G firmware. In a Twitter thread, Weinbach has revealed many of his discoveries, including an interesting feature that the Galaxy Fold 2 may end up offering.

According to his findings, the 6.23-inch cover display of the Galaxy Fold 2 will serve itself as a viewfinder for the rear camera when the device is unfolded. This way the users will be able to take selfies from the primary camera system and can see a live preview of the same on the cover display. The same is not available in the Galaxy Fold phone but has always been a most wanted feature. It was debuted on Galaxy Z Flip but its tiny cover display limits the usability.
If the spotted feature is coming to the Galaxy Z Fold 2 then it would be really great as users will be able to get a preview of their selfies in the external display as well.
