Asus ROG Phone 3 is the company’s latest gaming smartphone launched with some beefed-up specifications. It is powered by the very latest and faster Snapdragon 865 Plus processor and features 144Hz AMOLED display to ensure a smoother gaming experience.
Asus touts its all-new ROG Phone 3 as the battery champion of 2020. At the online-only event, Asus shared some battery life results compared to some other phones, including OnePlus 8. The results show the device offers longer battery hours compared to others, thanks to its elephantine 6,000mAh battery capacity and 30W fast-charging support.
Asus has launched the ROG Phone 3 with Snapdragon 865 Plus SoC in two memory models - 12GB or 16GB RAM. But there is one more model that comes powered by Snapdragon 865 processor and it is called Strix Edition. The new gaming phone from Asus features the new and evolved GameCool 3 cooling system to cool down the phone during your prolonged gaming sessions. The device features a vapor chamber, a large graphite film behind the screen, an enlarged heat sink. Asus touts that it is the most effective thermal solution available on a mobile device.
The ROG Phone 3 features triple rear cameras and supports 8K video recording at 30fps, 4K at 30fps, 60fps (main camera), 4K @ 30fps (wide-angle), 1080p @ 30fps, 60fps, slow motion -4K @ 120fps, 1080p at 240fps, 120fps, 720p at 480fps, Time-Lapse at 4K as well.
The phone largely follows the same design aesthetic as the previous phones of the series. It has a glass sandwich where the metallic frame runs in the middle. There is also a ROG logo with multicolor LED and angular patterns on the back. The ROG Phone 3 houses dual, front-facing speakers powered by ROG GameFX and Dirac HD Sound technologies. The handset has quad microphones with Asus Noise Reduction technology.
Asus mentions the ROG Phone 3 features advanced AirTrigger 3 that houses pressure-sensitive touch sensors around the edges. This brings motion-based control for enhanced gaming experience and mimics physical buttons on the phone. You can customize touch-sensor gestures as per your liking. There is a swipe gesture to each button for a secondary command and dual-partition button emulation on the AirTriggers that mimics physical buttons' experience.

Asus has also launched many new accessories – TwinView Dock 3 that adds another display; a mobile desktop dock that lets you dock the phone and use it with a keyboard and a mouse. The ROG Cetra RGB are in-ear gaming headphones with active noise cancellation and USB-C connectivity. Also, there is a ROG Falchion wireless mechanical keyboard with a touch panel. Asus also claims the keyboard can offer 400 hours of battery life.
The price of the Asus ROG Phone 3 with 16GB RAM/512GB storage costs €1099 (approx. $1273). There is one more model that bears 12GB RAM and 512GB storage and it costs €999 (approx. $1157). Both these models are powered by the latest Snapdragon 865 Plus SoC. Asus has also launched ROG Phone 3 Strix Edition that comes powered by Snapdragon 865 processor and has 8GB RAM with 256GB storage for €799 (approx.$925). The top-end variant also includes the AeroActive Cooler 3 accessory.
