Samsung has officially unveiled a new Android Go device Galaxy M01 Core in India. This also happens to be the third budget segment release in the country within a period of two months. The previous two devices were Galaxy M01 and Galaxy M01s which slightly differ in specifications. The newest entrant is an Android Go phone which makes it unique in the market.
The Galaxy M01 Core sports a 5.3-inch HD+ TFT display with thick bezels on all four sides. It has a front panel design that we used to see before the arrival of notches. Under the hood, it is powered by MediaTek's MT6739 processor that has been paired with 1GB and 2GB of RAM. These are two configuration variants that further feature 16GB and 32GB of onboard storage.
The smartphone has an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. It is true that there are only single shooters but considering the pricing, we can't really complain. There is a 3,000mAh battery to keep the lights on and it will ship with Android Go, a tweaked version of the Android operating system optimized for low-specced hardware.
Samsung has priced the Galaxy M01 Core for Rs. 5,499 and Rs. 6,499 for 1GB/16GB and 2GB/32GB variants respectively. It will be available in Black, Blue, and Red color options via Samsung’s retail stores, Samsung Opera House, Samsung.com, and leading online portals.
