Nubia has launched Red Magic 5S, a successor to the Red Magic 5G phone that it made official in March this year. The new Red Magic 5S gets some minor yet notable upgrades, including the Snapdragon 865 Plus processor. It also gets an overhauled cooling system with a silver-plated vapor chamber to keep your phone cool during prolonged gaming hours.
The silver-plated cooling heat sink pad is the most significant change among those minor upgrades that the phone has received. This pad is called ICE Ag and it accompanies the 15,000 RPM built-fan for even better performance. According to Nubia, the air duct is also 56% larger than that of the previous generation.
The rest of the specifications and even the design of the Red Magic 5S are quite similar to the Red Magic 5G. It retains the 4,500mAh battery and also supports 55W fast-charging. Furthermore, the 144Hz refresh rate remains the same. It also features RGB lighting zones and capacitive touch triggers with a touch sampling rate of 320Hz.
The camera configuration also remains the same, where it packs 64MP primary sensor coupled with an 8MP wide-angle camera and a 2MP macro camera on the back. There is up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. It runs Red Magic OS on top of Android 10.
