Black Shark 3S brings 120Hz display, Snapdragon 865, 4720mAh battery

Xiaomi's gaming-focused sub-brand Black Shark has unveiled a new gaming smartphone named Black Shark 3S. This new phone sits in the middle of already available Black Shark 3 and Black Shark 3 Pro models. It is essentially similar to the standard Black Shark 3 but with slight improvements.

The Black Shark 3S sports a 6.7-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) display with an increased 120Hz refresh rate. This is a good upgrade over the 90Hz refresh rate available on both existing models. The display panel is further said to have a 270Hz touch sampling rate and 17ms touch response.

All other specifications and features of the smartphone are the same as previous models. These include the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor which also brings 5G connectivity. There is 12GB of LPDDR5 of RAM and up to 512GB UFS 3.1 onboard storage.

The triple rear camera setup includes a 64-megapixel primary sensor, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. The front camera is a 20-megapixel sensor that can be found on the top bezel. The battery capacity is 4,720mAh battery with 65W fast charging support.
