OnePlus has officially confirmed that it will unveil Hydrogen OS 11 on August 10th. It will be the newest iteration of the operating system meant for OnePlus smartphones sold in China. It is essentially the same as OxygenOS but with no Google apps/services and a few tweaks and customization as per the Chinese market's needs and preferences.
Hydrogen OS 11 aka H2OS 11 is expected to come with a bunch of noticeable changes over the predecessor. The biggest change will undoubtedly be that it will be layered over Android 11. The latter's Android's latest version that is currently under beta testing but should become available publically by the end of the next month. Google usually announces a new stable Android version in August but sometimes, it gets pushed back to September like Android 10.
OnePlus' new operating system version is expected to be packed with new visual components. There will be new features to improve the usability of the device and overall user experience. OnePlus is also touting something called "brand-new interactive concept" which appears to be a new design language. But we will have to wait until the official announcement for exact details.
As we said in the beginning, Hydrogen OS is meant for the Chinese market and it will get unveiled in China. The event will be live-streamed on Weibo. This makes it safe to assume that OxygenOS 11 announcement should be around the corner as well.
