Realme V5 brings 5G connectivty, quad cameras for just over $200

As expected, the Realme V5 has been made official in China as one of the cheapest 5G smartphones in the market. It also happens to be the first Realme smartphone to feature MediaTek Dimensity processor. The brand has opted for Qualcomm 5G chipsets in its all previous 5G devices. Other highlighting features include quad cameras, a huge battery, and fast charging technology.

The Realme V5 sports a 6.5-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1800 pixels) LCD display with a punch-hole. It boasts a 90Hz refresh rate along with a 90.7% screen-to-body ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass. Under the hood, it has the MediaTek Dimensity 720 processor with 5G capabilities. There are two configuration variants with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 128GB onboard storage.

The quad-camera setup on the smartphone includes a 48-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. The other three camera sensors include 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, with f/2.3 aperture, 2-megapixel macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture, and 2-megapixel monochrome sensor with f/2.4 aperture. As for the selfie camera setup, there will be a single 16-megapixel sensor with f/2.1 aperture.

The whole package is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 30W flash charging. This is claimed to offer five hours of music playback within just three minutes of charging. Realme will be shipping with Realme UI based on Android 10 out of the box. Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C port, and 3.5mm headphone jack.
