Amazon rebrands Twitch Prime to Prime Gaming

11 August 2020 0

It has been years since Amazon acquired Twitch, the popular video game streaming platform. It has gone to grow exponentially ever since and has become the biggest platform in its genre. And like other Amazon-owned services, it also offers extra benefits to Prime membership users through Twitch Prime. Now, it has been rebranded to be in line with other Prime services.

Amazon has made an announcement that Prime Twitch will be known as Prime Gaming from now onwards. The aim behind the name change is to make the naming similar to other Prime services like Prime Music and Prime Video. This will help new users easily identify the gaming service and know what to expect.

It is worth noting that the change is only in the name. All perks will remain the same as no changes have been made to the existing ones. It means you will get to keep your already redeemed in-game content as well as free games. It also includes a free Twitch subscription for streaming channels.

The announcement further talks about the addition of new gaming perks that will be added to more games. These newly added content will be revealed as and when they will come available. As of now, Prime Gaming offers extra benefits for titles like Grand Theft Auto Online, Red Dead Online, Apex Legends, EA Sports FIFA 20, and League of Legends.
