We are just a month away from the annual Apple launch event where it takes wraps off new iPhone models. This year is expected to be different as the launch is tipped to happen in two phases. But regardless of how Apple plans the launch, it is commonly rumored that there will be four iPhone models. Now, a new leak has surfaced offering a look at the design and size of these models.
The leak comprises of iPhone 12 lineup dummies supplied to a case maker Sketch and were obtained by 9to5Mac folks. These dummies help companies design their cases and other accessories for upcoming models so that they are ready to be shipped as soon as Apple makes an official announcement. The leaked cases are for all the four models i.e. a 5.4-inch model, two 6.1-inch models, and a 6.7-inch model.
The first thing that comes to mind after seeing these dummies is the similarity in design between the iPhone 12 series and iPhone 4. Apple has opted for a flat-edge design with rounded corners that makes them look compact. The placement of buttons, ports, and grills is unchanged. They do not offer any idea of what the notch size would be as it is something that does not affect case designing in any way.
The back panel shows a camera module design similar to the iPhone 11 series. It is a separate square-shaped structure that will house camera sensors depending on the particular models. As per rumors, the 5.4-inch and 6.1-inch entry-level iPhone 12 models will have dual rear cameras. The remaining 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch high-end models aka iPhone 12 Pro Max will come with triple rear cameras. The placement of the Apple logo is unchanged and is in the center of the back. This is pretty much what can be noticed about the design through these leaked dummies.
