UPDATE (September 9th, 2020):

The alleged Pixel 5 has made another appearance and this time around, it is real-life images. The leak is coming from Jose Antonio Ponton, a Mexican radio host, and shows the device from the front as well as the back. The phone has a square-shaped camera bump on the top left side that looks different from the soon-to-be predecessor.

The front panel leak shows the punch-hole on the top left corner and settings app interface. The device name is listed to be "Pixel 5s" but it is quite common for OEMs to use names other than the actual name for testing prototypes.

Update: September 4, 2020

The price of the Google Pixel 5 is leaked and it is surprisingly cheap. The leak comes courtesy of a tip sent to German tech blog TechnikNewsNET from @NilsAhrDE tipster on Twitter. According to the tipster, Google Pixel 5 costs a lot less than the Pixel 4. To be specific, it may be priced at €629 or $699 in the US. If that is the case then the Pixel 5 is coming at a pretty low price compared to the $799 price of Pixel 4.

The same tipster in a follow-up tweet refers to the site Caschys Blog and reports that the Pixel 5 will be available around the end of the month. The tech publication reports that Vodafone Germany has already listed both the devices internally. The folks spotted that Vodafone is listing Pixel 5 (Black) for September 25th launch and the Pixel 4a (Just Black) will also be launched on the same day.

UPDATE (August 24th, 2020):

Alleged Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 smartphones have surfaced a new leak shared on Reddit. The post has been deleted since then but it included a real-life photo along with specification details. Both devices are shown from the back where the taller one is claimed to be the Pixel 4a 5G. There are a square-shaped camera module and a traditional fingerprint scanner on both smartphones.

As for the specs, the leak mentions there will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor with 8GB of RAM. The display panel will support up to 90Hz refresh rate, an 8-megapixel front camera, and a 4,000mAh battery to keep the lights on.

Original (August 21st, 2020)

Google itself has confirmed that Pixel 5 is coming this year so there is no mystery here. Some leaks and reports have had been pretty suggestive as well and revealed the details that the company hadn’t uttered yet. Well, that’s the job of leaks and we can’t just snub what is coming to our way, especially when we are on the path of knowing more about something.

Now some high-resolution renders of the Pixel 5 have surfaced that reveal the alleged design of the phone. These renders are given by the leakster @OnLeaks in collaboration with Pricebaba. As apparent, the alleged device has a punch-hole cutout on the top left corner of the display to house the camera. These renders tell that the Pixel 5 does not have an in-display fingerprint as a physical one is mounted on the back below to the camera module.

Overall, Pixel 5 does not have any major changes. In fact, it looks quite a lot like the recently released Pixel 4a, except for the extra camera sensor on the back and the new back panel finish. The camera module houses two cameras and an unknown sensor alongside an LED flash.

You will notice that the Pixel 5 is featuring a flat display and as further revealed by the participated tech publication, the screen size measures between 5.7-5.8-inches. The bottom edge is housing dual speakers and a USB Type-C port. As per the site, there is a single noise-canceling mic on the top and an earpiece slit above the display.

Past rumors have claimed the next-generation Pixel phone will not feature a flagship processor and rather bear a mid-range one, Snapdragon 765G to be precise. And looking at these renders, it does appear that Google has planned some modest specs for the Pixel 5. But we know Google’s offerings are still a cut above as it manages to maintain some trade-offs pretty well, in fact, better than many others in the competition.

Talking about other key specifications, there is still not much available on the same. But a new report from the house of Android Central has surfaced that tells the Pixel 5 battery capacity is larger than its predecessor. The exact battery capacity is unknown but the rumor of it being 3,080mAh is entirely false. The report also conveys that the Pixel 5 will also support 15W Qi wireless charging and 5W reverse wireless charging. The report also claims that it can “confirm” the Pixel 5 will have an OLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. But this raises an obvious question here and that is what specs we are looking at for the 4a 4G’s display. Furthermore, the RAM size is claimed to be an 8GB and 128GB storage size.

Recently, one more tipster with a good track record claimed that Pixel 5 could launch on September 30 together with Pixel 4a 5G, and referring to the past rumors, the suggested price tag is $699. Let’s wait for some more details to come as we are still at a distance from the said launch.
