Every time PUBG Mobile is getting towards the end of the season, players around the world also start waiting for a new update to land on their devices. The current season is no different but it is all set to be a major update as compared to previous ones. It is the PUBG Mobile 1.0 update that will bring new features, numerous changes, and tons of improvements.
The official announcement is touting the new update as a "new era of gameplay" with more realistic battle experiences. There will be improvements related to players’ character models, particles, smoke, air blasts, and muzzle flashes. There is a new scope interaction system along with changes to environments like vegetation and water. Even other key mechanisms like parachuting, throwing, and sprinting have undergone various changes for immersive gameplay experience.
The team has further made revamped the lobby user interface with a focus on simplicity. The new UI is a lot cleaner and also comes with customization support. It means players will be able to tweak the placement of various options/menus to get a personalized user experience when in the lobby. There is good news for middle and low-end device users as PUBG Mobile is promised to offer up to 30% higher FPS and up to 76% reduced lag after the new update.
Lastly, a new eSports tournament named PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) has been announced. It will replace the previously announced PUBG Mobile World League (PMWL) and World Championship (PMWC). It will be the biggest global PUBG Mobile tournament with a prize pool of whopping $2 million. The event will take place sometime in November 2020 but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the team is not sure whether fans will be invited at the venue. As far as teams are concerned, these will be invited from all regions including the Americas, Europe, South Asia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and China.
