Asus is said to be working on four new phones, according to a tipster named Abhishek Yadav from India. The names of these phones are not known but looking at the information provided, it appears Asus is making use of some mid-range chipsets for its phones. The tipster has mentioned the codenames of these processors – Lito, Lagoon, Bengal, and Scuba. The alleged marketing names of all of these processors are also mentioned.

•Lito (Snapdragon 765G 5G)
•Lagoon (Snapdragon 690 5G)
•Bengal (Snapdragon 662 or 460)
•Scuba (May Be Snapdragon 200 Series)#AsusMaxProM3#AsusMaxM3#AsusMaxM3Lite pic.twitter.com/uYZ0pWwt3S
It is expected Lito is likely the codename for the Snapdragon 765G processor, while “Lagoon” is probably the Snapdragon 690. Both of these chipsets are mid-range with 5G modems. The other two in the list are Bengal, which is probably Snapdragon 662 or Snapdragon 460 SoC, and the Scuba is likely from Snapdragon 200 family of chips.
It is unknown how this information was unearthed but it is a good base to start with. We may get to know more about Asus' plans on the same in the coming weeks or so. However, according to the tipster, these phones could be the upcoming Max M3 lineup, but we require more information to believe in the same.
Asus has not been into budget phones for almost two years and it is said to have shifted its focus on flagship phones especially after the resignation of CEO Jerry Shen. But referring to the only information that has now surfaced, Asus appears to have some different plans from now onwards. Let’s see what other things will join this leak in the coming days.
