ZTE Axon 20 5G after much anticipation is finally official in China. The phone is much-hyped and taking all the attention in the tech world for a reason, which is the world’s first commercially available under-display camera phone.
From the looks of the phone and the details of the Axon 20 5G, it appears ZTE has pulled off quite well. Placing the front camera beneath the display has helped the phone to go “true” full-screen. As promised, there are no unappealing notches, alterative punch-holes, or even fancy pop-ups. ZTE presents a phone, which is a 100% display.
ZTE explains that this under-display camera technology has been made possible through the interplay between five core technologies – a special display material, a dual-control chip, a unique driver circuit, a special pixel matrix, and a self-developed shooting algorithm.
According to ZTE, this new display material improves light input to the front camera, while the chip and circuit take care of synchronization problems of color and conventional displays when using an under-display camera. The special pixel matrix technology is responsible for optimizing the pixels to improve the display consistency, while the algorithm optimizes and improves the clarity of photos.
While flexing its first such creation, ZTE also brags about its another display milestone which is the support for “10-bit color-depth and 100% coverage of DCI-P3 color gamut, reaching the color standard of professional, digital cinema screens.”
Talking about other important aspects of this beautiful design, the Axon 20 5G features a 3D textured glass rear. It comes in blue, black, purple, and orange color options. The pattern on the back panel looks marvelous and enhances the overall look.
The ZTE Axon 20 5G is powered by a Snapdragon 765G processor that has 5G integrated. You get a 6.92-inch FHD+ display with no bezels. On the back, the phone carries four cameras, where the primary one is 64MP and supports 4K 60fps, night mode, real-time HDR video.
The price of ZTE Axon 20 5G is as follows according to different storage variants -
ZTE Axon 20 5G will go on sale in China at ZTE’s e-commerce channel. Currently, it is unknown if ZTE has any plans to bring it out of China.
