It has been some time since Instagram started offering Reels, a short video clip making feature similar to TikTok. The team is now extending Reels features to make it more user friendly. There are three new features related to video duration, timer, and video editing.
The first major change is that Instagram Reels now supports creating videos up to 30 seconds. This has been doubled from the previous limit of 15 seconds. This should help users create longer videos and show more freedom. The team has further extended the timer capability to 10 seconds while recording.
Lastly, there are new Instagram Reels video editing features. The two features are related to trimming and deleting clips before sharing on the feature. All of these features should become available with the new Instagram update as Reels is not an individual application. It resides within the main application at the place where the Explore section used to be.
