While you might have forgotten about Android Go, Samsung certainly has not. It already as a number of Android Go devices in the catalog and now, it has added a new one. The Samsung Galaxy A3 Core has been announced in Africa. The phone is aimed at entry-level buyers who are tight on budget.
The Samsung Galaxy A3 Core sports a 5.3-inch HD+ (1480 x 720 pixels) TFT LCD display with thick top and bottom bezels. Under the hood, it has an undisclosed quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz. The phone is available in a single configuration of 1GB RAM and 8GB onboard storage. It features microSD card support up to 512GB for those who desire more storage space.
The phone features an 8-megapixel camera on the back panel and a 5-megapixel front camera. The camera sensors offer f/2.2 and f/2.4 aperture respectively. There is support for 4x digital zoom, LED flash, and up to 1080p video recording on the rear camera. The whole package is powered by a 3,000mAh battery with support for standard charging speed. It will run the Android Go operating system out of the box.
Samsung has priced the Galaxy A3 Core NGN 32,500 which is about $86. It will be sold in Black, Blue, and Red color options. It is currently unknown if and what other markets will be receiving the device.
