Telegram now offers search filters, anonymous admins, channel comments

Telegram just keeps getting better with each new update that comes loaded with new features. This time is no different as the latest update adds three major features. These are search filters, anonymous admins, and channel comments among other nifty changes to improve the functionality of the app.

The search filters feature is something that will prove to be a boon, especially for group conversations with a large number of members. These filters will help you look for a particular message with a lot more convenience. You will be able to filter messages on the basis of file type, time period, and sender/recipient. The file types include media, links, files, music, and voice. As for the sender/recipient, you will be able to choose from a particular person, bot, admin, channel, or group.

Those who are group admins but want to keep their identity hidden, they can now do so with the help of the anonymous admin feature. This mode can be enabled by turning on the toggle for the Remain Anonymous option. All such admins will remain hidden in the list of group members and whenever they will send a message, the group's name will be used instead of their individual names.

Telegram has further added support for comments on channels. All the comments under a particular message will appear like a thread. This will make it easier for everyone to understand the flow and context of the conversation. However, it will be up to the channel owner whether to enable comments.

Other minor changes are limited to animation improvements on Android. All animations related to expanding/hiding of keyboard, day/night mode switching, and deleting messages have been revamped. They now feel a lot more smooth than ever before.
