Poco C3 with triple cameras and MediaTek Helio G35 SoC launched in India

06 October 2020 0

Poco, the Xiaomi spin-off brand has launched a new budget-friendly smartphone called the Poco C3 in India. The new phone appears to be the rebranded Redmi 9C but with some aesthetic changes here and there.

The Poco C3 carries the same camera module on the back but the rear panel looks different from the Redmi 9C. The new phone from Poco adopts the two-tone design that Google once introduced with its Pixel phones. Not to forget, Poco’s own M2 Pro comes with the same design approach so relating the C3 with its own family members would rather make more sense here. There is one more thing, unlike the Redmi 9C, the Poco C3 does not have a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. We assume, the Poco C3 has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner just like its family member M2 Pro.

The Poco C3 features a teardrop-style notch that houses a 5MP selfie camera. On the back, the Poc C3 comes with triple cameras module, where the 13MP is the primary sensor, followed by a 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro sensor. The phone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G35 SoC paired with 3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB storage. Whatever the storage variant you are going for, you can expand it further using the microSD card.

The Poco C3 runs MIUI 12 based on Android 10 OS and features a 6.53-inch HD+ display with a 20:9 aspect ratio. The phone gets its fuel from a 5,000mAh battery capacity which in turn takes its power via a 10W charging. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, microUSB, and a 3.5mm audio jack. Poco claims the C3 phone is protected by P2i which unlocks advanced protection and protects it from accidental water splashes.

Price and availability

The price of the base variant of the Poco C3 (3GB/32GB) is Rs. 7,499 and the second variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage costs Rs. 8,999. It comes in Arctic Blue, Matte Black, and Lime Green color options. Poco is calling these price tags as introductory offer so it is very likely that it will increase the cost someday. The Poco C3 will go on sale via Flipkart starting October 16.
