We all have a different checklist when it comes to buying a new phone. But a few things remain common and one of them has to sustainability. No matter how much we spend on a smartphone, we want it to be able to upheld and stay stronger with us for longer. That’s the main aim of a smartphone company within the Android market.
Teracube is the manufacturer that believes a smartphone should be sustainable more than anything else. The company stresses that most smartphones last an average of 2 years or less but its phones have been engineered to last for 4 years. Now, the company has launched its second Android phone called the Teracube 2e, which is also backed by its 4-year premium care warranty.
Another best part is that the Teracube 2e is super cheap for the benefits it is offering to you. It costs $200 and you can even grab it for $99 if you back it under the company’s limited early-bird special offering. This is valid for the first 250 orders.
Other interesting things that the Teracube 2e comes with include a replaceable battery that holds a 4,000mAh capacity. Users can swap it whenever a replacement is required. One more important aspect is the Teracube 2e offers three years of worth guaranteed software upgrades. It currently runs Android 10, so it will be upgraded to Android 11 as well. One more best part about the Teracube 2e is its environment-friendly nature. The company touts that the Teracube 2e uses 25 percent recycled plastics and has a fully biodegradable case made out of starch and polymers.
Coming to the technical specifications of the Teracube 2e, it features a 6.1-inch HD+ IPS display that is bright and colorful. It is powered by MediaTek Helio A25 octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz and coupled with 4GB RAM with expandable 64GB storage.
On the back, the phone includes dual cameras that are housed inside a sleek vertical strip-like module. The configuration includes a 13MP primary and an 8MP secondary sensor. The fingerprint scanner is mounted on the back and it sits beside the camera module. The front has a teardrop-style notch that houses an 8MP camera for taking selfies. So, specifications-wise, the Teracube 2e may not appeal to you much because the company has not developed it to be a technical powerhouse like others in the competition. The aim here is to bring a viable solution in the smartphone industry that could run for many more years.
The Teracube 2e includes a headphone jack, USB-C port, dual SIM slot as some of the connectivity options. The Teracube 2e is available for pre-order on Indiegogo in the US, Canada, and Europe. It will ship just in time for Christmas 2020.
