AirPods Studio and AirTags to skip next week's Apple event | Leak

09 October 2020 0

As we all are waiting for the Apple event in a few days, a reliable Apple tipster Jon Prosser has shared information related to the availability of a few expected products. He has corroborated with iPhone 12 series will be made available to buyers in a phased manner. But more importantly, AirPods Studio and AirTags are now tipped to skip the Apple event next week.

Prosser tweeted that Apple has decided to delay the AirTags launch until March 2021. He does not mention the reasons behind the delay but it is not the first time we have heard about AirTags release getting pushed back. These are essentially Apple's answer to Tiles and look like a disc. These are meant to help users keep a track of their items so that they do not end get lost. We can only hope that these do not meet the same fate as the AirPower wireless charging mat that got scrapped after numerous delays.

The AirPods Studio is supposed to be Apple's first-ever over-the-ear headphones but they are delayed as well. Prosser does not mention when to expect the release but assures that they will not make an appearance on October 13th. He further added that the render we have been seeing, it is a premium variant made of leather/metal and priced at $599. Apple will also announce an affordable sports-like variant with cheaper materials for $350.

Lastly, the leak mentions that all four iPhone 12 models and HomePod products will be announced next week. Both 6.1-inch models i.e. iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro will go on pre-orders from October 16th and in-store availability from October 23rd. The other two models i.e. iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max will go on sale sometime in November.
