Apple's newest iPhone lineup is widely rumored to include four models: iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max. These will have 5.8-inch, 6.1-inch, 6.1-inch, and 6.7-inch display sizes respectively. The smallest version will be the most affordable but if you were thinking it would also be the best-seller, you will find yourself in disagreement with what renowned research analyst Kuo believes.
Kuo has published his latest research notes claiming that the 6.1-inch iPhone 12 will prove to be the best-selling model in the series with a 40% share. He adds that even though the iPhone 12 Mini will be cheapest in terms of pricing, it is the small display size that will make most buyers refrain from purchasing it. All remaining three iPhone 12 models are said to account for 20% of sales share each.
To be specific, here are Kuo's predicated shares for each of the four models:
- iPhone 12 Mini: 20-25%
- iPhone 12: 40-45%
- iPhone 12 Pro: 15-20%
- iPhone 12 Pro Max: 15-20%
The Pro models will obviously pack the best that Apple wants to offer but due to the same reasons, they will also cost a premium and significantly higher than standard variants. This will result in the majority of the people ditching them because of the budget constraints.
Kuo has added that despite all the new features and 5G connectivity, pricing will continue to be the most important factor for buyers to decide which iPhone to go for. This is the reason current-gen iPhone 11 has proved to so popular among buyers as it offers a sweet spot between affordable pricing and the latest features.
