It is time for a new software update for OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T users. This new update brings September 2020 security patch to the devices and will make it more safe and secure than before. It is available in the form of OxygenOS 10.3.2 which will arrive as an over the air update.
The update further includes the usual changelog of behind the scenes improvements and bug fixes. OnePlus says it will be an incremental upgrade where a few users will receive it earlier than others. If the rollout is successful with no major roadblocks, it will expand the new version to everyone around the world.
If you own any of these two smartphones, you should be seeing an update notification anytime soon. Since this is an incremental release as mentioned above, you might not see it instantly or so quickly. One can also check for the update manually by visiting the system settings. If you do not see any update alert, you should wait for the mass release.
It should be noted that despite being a new software update, the core Android version will remain unchanged i.e. Android 10. OnePlus has assured that OnePlus 6 series users will get upgraded to OxygenOS 11 based on Android 11 but has not specified a release timeline for the same. We will keep you posted on all the developments related to this.
