OnePlus has officially launched its newest flagship smartphone OnePlus 8T. It is the latest member of the "T" series and is essentially an improved version of the OnePlus 8. The new phone is claimed to be very light-weight despite packing a lot of components and a big battery.
The OnePlus 8T weighs only 188 grams and is just 8.4 mm thick. In other words, the phone should be a lot more comfortable to grip in hands. It sports a 6.55-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) Fluid OLED flat display panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. There is a 240Hz touch sampling rate, a peak brightness of 1100 nits, and support for HDR10+.
Under the hood, it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor coupled with 8GB and 12GB of RAM. It is available with 128GB and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage with no memory card support. The flagship has Dolby Atmos stereo speakers for a premium audio experience. In terms of performance, OnePlus says that the phone will be capable of running Fortnite at 90fps, making it the first smartphone to be able to do so.
The quad-camera setup is headlined by the 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor with f/1.7 aperture. It is accompanied by a 16-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor with an f/2.2 aperture, a 5-megapixel macro sensor, and a 2-megapixel monochrome sensor. The front camera is a 16-megapixel Sony IMX471 sensor with f/2.4 aperture.
The phone comes with a 4,500mAh battery supported by 65W Warp Charge fast charging. It is claimed to offer a 60% charge within 15 minutes. OnePlus also took a dig at Apple by specifically mentioning that the 65W fast charger will be bundled with the smartphone for absolutely free. On the software front, it will run OxygenOS 11 based on Android 11 out of the box.
