Samsung brings few Galaxy Z Fold 2 features to original Fold

15 October 2020 0

It has become a pattern with Samsung where we see the brand bring some of the new features from the latest device to older generation devices through a software update. This is now happening for the original Galaxy Fold users who are now receiving an update packed with a few of the Galaxy Z Fold 2 features.

The Galaxy Fold has now received support for App Pair. It is the ability to launch up to three apps in split-screen mode with just one tap from the Edge Panel. Users can even preset the split-screen layout including the horizontal alignment. The Edge Panel supports adding up to 22 applications for faster access from anywhere.

Samsung has further made improvements to Galaxy Fold video shooting capabilities. There is Auto framing where the camera app will automatically zoom in and out of the frame depending on how many people are there. This is to help users' save time from manually adjusting the frame.

These are other video recording modes:

  • Capture View Mode: See the preview of the video footage as you are recording it. It shows up to five shots (photos or videos) as well as a preview of the next shot.
  • Dual Preview: This mode shows a preview of the shot on both the Cover and Main Screen. It also works with videos through Pro Video mode.
  • Users can open the camera app on the Cover Display and switch to the rear camera for high-resolution
  • Pro Video mode now supports 21:9 aspect ratio and 24fps and video assistant functions

All these new features will land on the original Galaxy Fold via a software update. The rollout for the same has begun and should reach you sooner than later. You can also check for the update manually by visiting the phone settings.
