Micromax, an Indian phone brand has long been teasing a comeback in its country and it appears the time has finally arrived. Micromax’s co-founder in an up & close sorta short video on Twitter shared some important points about his brand. In the video, Sharma maintained the brand’s transparency and also touched on the glaring issues in the country because of which the company is thinking to make a comeback.
Sharma also spoke about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘AtmaNirbhar Bharat’ initiative, following which the company is now even more determined.
Micromax is a smartphone brand that once saw some glorious days in its own country but the fierce competition from the outside companies beat the company to its lowest point. When announcing the comeback, Sharma transparently talked about the situation that the company had to go throw by acknowledging the damage caused to his brand by the Chinese companies.
Sharma didn’t reveal any details but by the end of the video, he showed a glimpse of a retail box in blue on which “in” is written. Sharma says, “Micromax is coming back with In, for India.”
More details on Micromax plans -
Sharma didn’t reveal other details on the same but later on, in an interview with an Indian YouTuber, Technical Guruji, he shared some important details.
Sharma stresses in the video that comeback is not a sudden plan, in fact, the company has been working on its plans for over a year and it is now only announcing to the public. He further added, “In” is a completely new line-up, a sub-brand that will focus on millennials. “It is going to be a purely performance-oriented brand,” he added. The new lineup will also target gamers and those who look for a good performance device on a budget. One more interesting detail he shared is that the new phones will have a clean experience, which means smartphones will deliver a nearly stock Android experience. This is great news because no one wants a phone full of bloatware this day. Micromax had gained some serious criticism back in time because of the tonnes of bloatware it used to load on its phones. Interestingly as Sharma promises, "there is going to be no bloatware or ads on the phones."
So, all in all, Micromax will touch all those aspects of a smartphone that a customer wants from their phones. Also, Micromax will touch every segment of the smartphones selling between Rs. 7,000 and Rs. 15,000 in India. The company aims to bring "value for money" phones that will bring more and more features.
He also said India needs a legitimate option today on which the users could totally rely on. He further added the company may only be reviving now but it has years of experience and seen the smartphone industry very closely. It knows how it is scaling and what the end-users want.
The company didn’t share the technical details but a report came in June stated that Micromax could make a comeback with three new phones first.
